Version 1.0 October 5, 2026
Initial release — sights worth stopping for, one card at a time.
The first public release of RoadLens. No destination to type, no route to plan: mount your phone and drive, and when a castle, a museum, a beach or a deer forest comes within reach, one card shows a photo, how far it is and which way to look.
What shipped in 1.0
- One card, read in two seconds — the photograph first, with distance and a direction arrow right on it. When several places are close, they stack into a deck.
- Tap the card for the whole story: what the place is, where it lies right now, and roughly when you’ll be level with it. One more tap opens directions.
- Swipe back along the rail to anything passed on this drive, and save places for the way home.
- Categories you switch on and tune: castles and historic sites, nature and viewpoints, trails and geology, museums and family attractions — plus bakeries, playgrounds, campsites and motorhome stopovers if you want them.
- On devices with on-device intelligence, describe what you’re after in a sentence and RoadLens turns it into more of this and less of that.
- An Apple Watch app that runs the same radar on its own and can keep watching in the background for an hour.
- Built for the dashboard: large text, big targets, and a card that stays quiet until something is genuinely close. Dismissed places never come back.
