Version 1.0 October 2, 2026
Initial release — look inside an archive before you unpack anything.
The first public release of Rumskrot Archives for iPhone and iPad. The folder tree appears straight from the archive’s own index, photos open in a real viewer, documents and code render in place, and saving a copy is always your choice.
What shipped in 1.0
- Open ZIP, RAR, 7-Zip, TAR and compressed TAR archives from Files, Mail, Messages or the share sheet, and browse the folder structure before exporting anything.
- A real photo viewer — page through the folder, pinch and double-tap to zoom, and scrub the filmstrip.
- PDF, Markdown, SVG and plain text render in place, source code is syntax-highlighted across more than 30 languages, and supported audio and video play without leaving the archive.
- ZipCrypto and WinZip AES, RAR5 with encrypted headers and multi-volume sets, 7-Zip with AES, .tar.gz, .tar.bz2 and .tar.xz, and comic-book containers. Archives inside archives expand in the same list.
- Passwords asked for only when needed and forgotten on close, unless you choose to remember them in this device’s Keychain.
- Opening is ephemeral by default. Save a copy deliberately to Local storage, a Private scope behind device authentication, or an iCloud Drive folder, with a confirmation before anything uploads.
- Scratch storage protected at rest, excluded from backup, and released when the work is done.
- Shortcuts and Siri actions to open archives, export entries or whole archives, and save to the library.
- No telemetry, analytics, accounts, ads or tracking SDKs.
